Launched in the dawn of 2020, Nova Conservation started as an idea to bring non-biologists out on trips and expeditions to help conservation research.
Once the pandemic hit, things changed.
Laura here. I thought I could built a database of experiences, but no one ever tells you how difficult website development is. Or expensive.
I quickly realized there are many ethical quandaries surrounding conservation expeditions, “pay to play,” and exploitation in our industry. A review database is urgently needed for transparency, and I sought to provide that.
Ultimately, I ran out of energy, money, and passion for building and maintaining multiple websites. I needed to go back to my roots, my original vision: Ethical eco-adventures that bring a unique cash flow to conservation research.
Our goal? Do whatever it takes to help wildlife and ecosystem conservation efforts.
This means taking care of the people who help the planet, too.
